University Canada West offers two scholarship programs for international students: the International Student Leaders Award which is awarded based on leadership and community involvement and the Scholarships for Academic Excellence which is awarded based on academic merit.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

International Student Leaders Award
The value of this scholarship is based on each applicant’s demonstrated and potential leadership and community service. The total value will range from $8,000-$12,000 (undergraduate students) and $5,000-$7,500 (graduate students).

Scholarships for Academic Excellence
The value of this scholarship is based on each applicant’s academic performance and their previous studies. The total possible value will range from $8,000-$20,000 (undergraduate students) and $5,000-$15,000 (graduate students).

Eligibility:

International Student Leaders Award
This award is for students who are dedicated to improving their home country’s economic development. Applicants should write a Personal Statement describing how receiving an award for their program of choice will affect their personal, educational, and career goals, how they intend to use their skills to contribute to the growth of their home country, and what obstacles they may face. The award tier will be dependent on the strength of your application and personal statement. Students must remain in good academic standing.

Scholarships for Academic Excellence
This scholarship is aimed at students with excellent academic grades who wish to go on to excel in their chosen field of work. They should demonstrate leadership potential in a business environment, both through their exceptional academic merit and with an established track record of excellence in their chosen career.

Scholarship recipients of the Undergraduate award must maintain a GPA of 2.67 to remain eligible for the second and subsequent award. Scholarship recipients of the Graduate awards must maintain a GPA of 3.0 to remain eligible for the second and subsequent award payments.
